Overview
Registering a gateway in ToolWatch enables the system to detect Bluetooth signals from wireless tags and send scan data to the cloud. This process must be completed before the gateway can begin tracking activity.

Before You Begin
You will need:
A cellular battery-powered wireless gateway or Wired Gateway
The correct Stock or Non-Stock location where the gateway will be placed
The Make/Model listed on the device label
The IMEI number (MAC address) printed on the back of the device
Steps to Register a Wireless Gateway
Open Tracking.
Select Wireless Gateways.
Select +Add Gateway.
A modal opens to enter gateway details.
Enter or select the Location.
The location may be a Stock or Non-Stock location.
You search for a location by entering the first three letters of the location.
You can select a location by clicking Browser in the dropdown.
Enter the gateway-defined Area inside a location.
This field is optional and may be left blank.
Select the Gateway Type.
Choose Cellular.
Cellular is the only available option at this time.
Select the Make/Model from the dropdown.
Choose the Make/Model that matches the label on the back of the physical gateway device.
Enter the Gateway IMEI in the MAC Address field.
The IMEI is printed on the back of the device.
Min RSSI.
This field is N/A and does not require entry.
Select Save Changes.
The gateway is now registered in ToolWatch and will begin reporting on its next scan cycle.
Additional Notes
Ensure the device has reliable cellular coverage at the selected location.
The Make/Model and IMEI must match the physical gateway’s printed label.
Once registered, the gateway may take up to 4 hours to complete its first cloud update cycle.
