Status Codes are used to assign a particular statuses to your tools and equipment. This enables you to filter out items by status in the Tool Browser and in Reports. When creating status codes, you can add additional rules to a status.
Steps to Create Status Codes
Expand the Administration module
Expand Settings
Select Status Codes
Click the Create New button
Create an abbreviated code for the status in the Code field (ie: NF)
Enter a summary of the status code in the Description field (ie: Non-Functional)
Assign an action to the status code (optional)
Click Save
Note: Status Codes applied to tool records will appear on transfers, in browsers, and on some reports.
Additional Rules that may be added to a status
Can’t be transferred or moved
An item with this status will not be able to be transferred.
You will be prevented from adding an item with this status to a transfer ticket. When an attempt is made to add the item to a transfer ticket, you will see the message, “This item has a status of Do Not Transfer”. The user can override this.
Need Service or Repair (Service)
When added to a transfer ticket, an item with this status will prompt you with this message, “Do you want to schedule service for this tool?”
Destroyed beyond repair (Destroyed)
When added to a transfer ticket, an item with this status will prompt you with this message that “Do you want to retire this tool?”
Will be retired and sent to Lost & Found (L&F)
When added to a transfer ticket, an item with this status will prompt you with this message “Do you want to retire this tool?”
