A Tools & Equipment Rate Sheet in ToolWatch defines how tool and equipment usage is charged for Job Cost and Billing. This type of Rate Sheet supports multiple Calculation Methods and advanced features like rate migration, minimum/maximum charges, and usage tracking.
Follow the steps below to create, configure, and activate your Rate Sheet.
1. Create the Rate Sheet
In the Navigator panel, expand Job Cost & Billing.
Click Rate Sheets.
Click + Add Tools & Equipment Rate Sheet.
This opens the Rate Sheet Rules window with default configuration settings.
Accept the defaults or update the values as needed in the Rate Sheet Rules window.
Click Save.
Enter a unique Rate Sheet Number (letters, numbers, or symbols).
Add a Description with a title and brief summary.

Click Save.
Configure Each Tool Row
For each Model Record (tool) you want to add:
Find the Model Record that should be charged.
In the Base Value column, confirm or enter the tool’s value (no $ symbol).
In the Calculation Method column, choose one of the following:
Assignment – flat charge per use.
Calendar – based on daily, weekly, or monthly time.
Hourly Usage – based on logged equipment hours.
Complete the Billing tab with the same or a different method, as needed.
After selecting a method, ToolWatch displays the required fields for that method.
You must complete either the % or flat value fields for charges to apply.
