A Materials & Consumables Rate Sheet in ToolWatch is used to apply a flat charge each time materials or consumables are assigned to a project. This type of Rate Sheet is simpler than Tools & Equipment and supports only the Assignment Method.

1. Create the Rate Sheet
In the Navigator panel, go to Job Cost & Billing
Click Rate Sheets
Click + Add Materials & Consumables Rate Sheet
Enter a Rate Sheet Number (can include letters, numbers, or symbols)
Add a short Description (for internal reference)
Click Save
🛠 Materials & Consumables Rate Sheets do not require you to configure Rate Sheet Rules.
2. Configure the Rate Sheet Rows
Each row represents a Model Record. All rows use the Assignment Method, which applies a one-time charge per assignment.
Required Fields
Field | Description |
Base Value | Pulled from the Model Record if available. You can enter or edit this value manually. |
Initial Charge % or Initial Charge | Enter either a percentage of Base Value or a flat amount. ToolWatch will calculate the other automatically. |
🔒 Once the Initial Charge Method is selected for a row, the Base Value becomes locked. If you need to update it, do so before applying a Calculation Method.
3. Optional Fields
You can also apply optional billing controls to each row:
Field | Description |
Cost Code | Applied to the charge if none is entered in the transaction |
GL Charge Account | Used for accounting exports |
GL Credit Account | Used for revenue exports |
These fields are optional but recommended for financial tracking.
4. Save the Rate Sheet
After entering all required values and any optional fields, click Save
The Rate Sheet is now ready to apply charges automatically whenever a material or consumable is assigned to a project
✅ No Rate Sheet Rules or Migration Points apply to this type of Rate Sheet.
