CMiC is run through the off the shelf CMiC API. To set up the CMiC integration, you will need to provide the ToolWatch Connector with the necessary API credentials and connection information.
Connection Methods
ToolWatch supports the following connection methods for CMiC:
Use Direct API Connection (from ToolWatch servers to API url)
Use Direct API V1 Connection (from ToolWatch servers to API url)
ToolWatch does have support for on premise CMiC installations, but has discontinued its use in favor of the API connection methods listed above.
How ToolWatch Sets Up the Integration
After ToolWatch has the information it needs to log into the API on your behalf, ToolWatch can test the connection and set up the integration by pulling down all the CSVs. This verifies that the connection is good and that the account has the required permissions. You will need to provide an API account that has sufficient access to complete the integration. ToolWatch uses existing CMiC settings as a model when setting up a new customer.
If a company is using multiple CMiC settings, please use different users for each setting.
Note: CMiC stores social security numbers for employees. SSN and other personal identifying information is stored in CMiC. ToolWatch is configured to never pull in this information.
