Set Up and Use the Company Calendar for Job Costing

The Company Calendar allows you to define your organization’s default working days and hours. ToolWatch uses these settings to calculate eligible, billable time during a billing period. This setup is typically completed by a ToolWatch Administrator.

🛠️ Tip: You must set default working hours before using the Job Cost and Billing features.

Steps to Set Default Working Hours

  1. Expand the Job Cost and Billing section in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select Company Calendar.

  3. Click the blue Manage Project Defaults... button.

  4. In the Set working hours window, check the boxes for the days your company works.

  5. Enter the start and end times for each selected day.

    1. (e.g., Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM–05:00 PM). Use this single screenshot for Steps 4–5.

  6. Click Set to apply your changes.

  7. Click Save at the bottom right of the Company Calendar screen.

How These Hours Are Used

The hours you set in the Company Calendar become your company’s default billing schedule. ToolWatch uses this schedule to determine which hours are eligible and billable during a specified billing period.

You can update these defaults at any time by repeating the steps above.
