Creating and Submitting Request Tickets (Field Mode only)

Learn how to create, populate, and submit request tickets in Field Mode, including adding line item notes and tracking collaborations.

Overview

Request Tickets are created in Field Mode of the ToolWatch Mobile App. Use them to request tools and materials for a jobsite or team member. Once submitted, these become Pick Tickets, which are visible to warehouse users for processing.


1. Create a Request Ticket

  1. Make sure you are in Field Mode.

  2. Tap Request from the Home Screen.

  3. On the My Requests screen, tap the icon to create a new draft:

    • On Android, tap the pencil icon at the bottom right.

    • On iOS, tap the plus (+) icon at the top right.

  4. Tap Submit To and select a receiving contact. (Required)

  5. Tap Requesting For and select the employee or project. (Required)

  6. (Optional) Fill out any of the following fields:

    • Cost Center

    • Cost Code

    • Needed By

    • Comment

    • Collaboration

  7. Tap NEXT to continue to the item entry screen.


2. Add Items to the Request

  1. On the New Draft screen, tap the icon to add items:

    • On Android, tap the plus (+) icon at the bottom right.

    • On iOS, tap the three dots ("...") in the top right, then select Add Item from the menu.

  2. Tap Add Item to browse items by category.

  3. Alternatively, you can add items by:

    • Entering the tool number or barcode number manually.

    • Tapping the barcode icon to scan an item using your device’s camera.

  4. If browsing by category:

    • Select a category: All, Tools, or Materials.

    • Tap a category to view available models.

    • Scroll or search to find the item you need.

  5. Tap a model to add it to the Request Ticket.

  6. Enter the quantity when prompted and tap OK.

  7. Tap the note icon next to the item to add details or instructions.

    • Note: Use line item notes to request unique "one-off" or custom items with specific specifications without needing to create a new inventory item.

  8. Tap the Back arrow to return to the Request Ticket screen.

  9. Repeat steps 2-8 until all needed items have been added.

  10. To edit an existing item, tap the item and select one of the following:

    • Change Quantity

    • Remove Item

    • Cancel


3. Submit, Save, or Delete the Request

  1. Tap Submit to send the ticket. It will now appear with Requested status and be visible to warehouse teams as a Pick Ticket.

  2. Tap the speech bubble icon at the top center of the screen to view and reply to comment collaborations with the warehouse team.

  3. Tap Delete Ticket to permanently remove the draft.

  4. Tap Cancel to exit without saving changes.
