When searching for inventory or equipment on the ToolWatch web platform, entering item numbers or scanning barcodes can return redundant results if multiple records match across different identifier fields. Customizing your personal Scan Box Settings allows you to restrict web search results to specific identifier types—such as item numbers, barcodes, serial numbers, or model UPCs. This ensures faster item lookup and reduces selection errors during web operations.
How to Customize Your Web Scan Box Filters
Log into the ToolWatch web portal and click your Profile icon in the upper right corner.
Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
Scroll down to the Scan Box Settings panel and under Return Scan Box Results For..., check or uncheck the options for Item Number, Barcode, Serial Number, and Model UPC to select which identifier fields should generate search matches.
(Optional: Click Reset to Default if you wish to clear your selections and restore your organization's default company settings).
Click Save directly below the checkbox options to store your preferences.
