DEWALT Tracking Data

Where to find DEWALT and BLE tracking data in ToolWatch, including the Bluetooth icon, Age, Last Scanned, gateway, and tag fields.

ToolWatch records telemetry tracking data for tools from all available sources. These include BLE tags, embedded tags, barcode scans and RFID scans. ToolWatch also tracks events like transfers, counts and work orders.

Tracking data is available in the expanded browser view.

Bluetooth Icon – A Bluetooth icon will display for each tool that has a paired BLE tag either from DEWALT or ToolWatch. This icon will be blue when the tool has transmitted data within the last 30 days. The icon will be orange if the tool has not transmitted in the last 30 days.

Age – The number of days since a tracking event was received. Tracking events include:

  • Count

  • Tool Connect

  • Mobile Camera Scan

  • Mobile Barcode Scan

  • Mobile RFID Scan

  • Picked

  • Reinstatement

  • Retirement

  • Transfer

  • Work Order

  • BLE Tracking

Last Scanned – The date and time of the last scan received. Last scans are limited to:

  • Tool Connect Scan

  • Mobile Camera Scan

  • Mobile Barcode Scan

  • Mobile RFID Scan

  • BLE Tracking Scan

Last BLE Scan Location – The last ToolWatch Location the item was scanned at based on the location of the Gateway it was scanned through. Only recorded for BLE and Tool Connect scans.

Last BLE Scanned Area – The last Area the item was scanned at based on the area of the Gateway it was scanned through. Only recorded for BLE and Tool Connect scans.

Last Counted – The date of the last time the item was counted on a count ticket.

BLE Gateways

  • Location – The ToolWatch location for the gateway

  • Area – The area within the location for the gateway.

BLE Tags

  • Last Scan – The date and time of the last scan from this BLE tag as a ToolWatch BLE Tag or thru Tool Connect.

  • Temperature – The last temperature reading from the tag.

  • Battery Health – The last battery level reading from the tag.

When BLE Tag associated tools are audited with the Tool Connect Audit feature, via Bluetooth or barcode, that audit is considered a Tool Connect Scan and is recorded as a BLE event. If the ToolWatch BLE Tag is associated with a ToolWatch Unique Tool, the audit's Assignment/Location data is used to check if the ToolWatch Unique Tool has changed locations. If it has, and ToolWatch is configured to automatically re-assign assets based on BLE scans, the tool is transferred to the new location.
