Overview
A retired tool is a tool that is no longer in use. If a gateway picks up a retired tool's BLE tag in a wireless scan, the tool may still be on a job site or in use.
You can get an email or a text message (SMS) when this happens at a location you supervise.
Before You Begin
Sign in to ToolWatch Cloud (the website). You cannot set up notifications in the mobile app.
You must be set as the Supervisor of the location. See How to Set a Supervisor for a Location.
To get text messages, add and verify your phone number first. See Set Up Email and SMS Notifications (Cloud Only).
How to Turn On the Retired Tool Notification (Email or Text)
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to the User Preferences section. Under Notifications, next to Retired Tool has been scanned at a location I supervise, check By email..., By SMS..., or both.
Click Save.
Note: This notification only works for tools with a BLE tag. It does not work for GPS tags.
