When a location is no longer active in your operations, you can deactivate it to keep your system clean. Once a location is marked as inactive, it will no longer appear in any standard system drop-down lists.
Prerequisites:
Assigned Items: If a location currently has items assigned to it, you must transfer those items to another location before you can make it inactive.
Root Stock Location: The top location of your Organization Tree (the root Stock Location) is required for system architecture and cannot be inactivated.
How to Deactivate a Location or Restrict Transfers
From the main navigation panel, click to expand the Administration section.
Click to expand the Company Lists sub-section.
Select Locations to open your active locations directory.
Locate your target location in the data table and click the Edit button on that row.
Scroll down to the Status section of the configuration modal, check the Inactive box to deactivate the location, or check the Cannot Transfer to this location box to restrict inventory movements.
Click the blue Save button to apply your changes.
Managing Jobs and Visibility Settings
In ToolWatch, Jobs are managed within the system as non-stock locations. If you are attempting to remove or hide a Job, use the following visibility logic:
A job/location can be set to inactive, hidden from active views, or deleted entirely.
If you have deactivated or deleted a job/location and it does not appear in your standard view or the recycle bin, click the Modify Visibility button above the data table.
Ensure you check the visibility configurations under both the active and inactive filters to locate the item.
