Tools or items can be assigned to employees for extended periods, such as keys, cell phones, or PPE. These items can be designated as Personal Issue (PI) in Align, ensuring their status is reflected across multiple areas, including:
The Tools & Equipment Browser.
Tool Records.
Transfer Tickets.
Count Tickets.
and select reports.
Employees can also be set as a Responsible Party for Uniquely Tracked items that are issued to a non-stock location. See the Setting a Responsible Party to a Unique Tool article.
Note: Designation of Personal Issue (PI) is done at the Transfer Ticket level.
Assigning a Tool as Personal Issue (PI)
Locate the tool on the Transfer Ticket.
Click the box under the PI column to designate the tool as Personal Issue (a checkmark will appear).
Click Process Transfer to finalize the designation.
The tool will now display the PI designation in its Tool Record and on future transfers.
Removing the PI Designation
Create a new transfer.
Locate your tool and add the tool to the transfer.
Uncheck the box under the PI column.
Click Process Transfer to remove the designation.
