Assigning a Responsible Party to an item lets you designate an employee who is accountable for Unique Tools issued to non-stock locations, such as jobsites or individual employees. This helps maintain clear responsibility while tools are in the field. Once the item is transferred out of the non-stock location, the Responsible Party designation is automatically removed.
Follow the below steps to set a Responsible Party to a Unique Tool:
Expand the Inventory section.
Select Item Browser.
Select an item category.
Right-click an item at a non-stock assignment.
Select Set Responsibility Party.
Enter the name of a responsible party or open the dropdown and select a name.
Click OK.
Note: Setting a Responsible Party does not change the Manager field.
The Manager is determined by where the item is currently assigned:
Stock Location → Manager = that location
Job or Employee → Manager = the parent Stock Location of that assignment
To change the Manager, transfer the item or update the parent of the assigned job or employee.
