You can quickly update the structural classification of any asset directly from its model record.
Critical Rule: This quick edit is only valid if the underlying Item Type is not changing (for example, moving a tool from "Air Compressors" to "Generators"). Follow these steps to update a model's category:
Click Inventory on the left-hand navigation panel.
Select Catalog.
Click on the specific item model record you want to update.
Within the Tracking Information panel on the right, hover your mouse over the Category field and click the Pencil icon that appears to open the editing options.
Click the Category dropdown menu and select Browse....
Choose your new category from the Tool Categories or Material Categories window.
Click OK.
Click Save to apply the category change to the model record.
