Overview
GPS-enabled trackers provide real-time location information for assets in ToolWatch. You can view GPS location data from two areas:
Item Browser (best for viewing one asset’s location)
Tracking → Map (best for viewing multiple assets on a map)
This article walks through each method and explains how to use the Map Legend to interpret GPS and scan icons.
Method 1: View GPS Location from Item Browser
Use this method when you want to view the GPS location of one specific asset.
Expand Inventory in the left navigation.
Select Item Browser.
In the Categories panel, select the category for the asset (for example, Trucks).
Right-click the item row and select View Detail & Edit Item.
• You can also open the item detail window by clicking the Tool Number in the grid.In the item detail window, select the MAP tab.
• Review the GPS pin on the map and check the Last Reported information at the bottom of the window.
Note: The MAP tab appears only after the item has at least one set of GPS coordinates saved from any scan type. If the item has never had GPS coordinates saved, the MAP tab will not appear.
Method 2: View GPS Location from the Tracking Map
Use this method to view all GPS-tracked assets on a single map.
Expand Tracking in the left navigation.
Select Map.
Use the Locations and Items filters to display the asset category you want to view.

• Hovering displays a quick-view card with Item Detail and Model Detail options.
• Clicking the pin opens the full Item Details panel.

Troubleshooting GPS Location Visibility
If you do not see expected GPS data:
The tracker may not have a clear view of the sky.
The tracker may be indoors or enclosed in metal.
GPS updates may be delayed due to weak cellular signal.
Batteries may be low and need replacement.
The GPS tracker may not be installed in an optimal orientation.
Refer to Troubleshooting GPS Location Data for detailed guidance.
