Service Schedule Explained

Learn how the ToolWatch Service Schedule helps users track, plan, and report on upcoming tool maintenance.

Overview

The Service Schedule helps users track, plan, and report on upcoming service work. Tools with active Service Plans generate entries in the Service Schedule, with each plan creating a single entry based on the next due date, regardless of the number of tasks within the plan. The schedule follows visibility rules based on the user's location in the Org Tree, and tools with multiple Service Plans may have multiple schedule entries.

Service Event Triggers

Service events are triggered by one of three criteria:

  • By Date: A scheduled recurrence date.
Note: If the recurrence is set for a relative interval (a number of days, weeks, or months), the next work order is triggered by the completion date of the last work order (or the close date if no completion date is set). If the recurrence is scheduled for a specific calendar month or day, the next work order is triggered on that specific upcoming date.

  • By Meter: Upcoming meter readings.

  • By Turns: Upcoming turn or "assignment".

Managing Service Notifications

When a Service Plan reaches its recurrence date, meter reading, or turn, a message appears in the Message Center stating, "There are tools needing to be serviced.".

To clear this notification:

  1. Locate the "There are tools needing to be serviced." message within the Message Center on your System Dashboard.

  2. Click the message to automatically navigate to the Work Order Browser.

  3. Process the listed Work Orders to clear the notification.
