Cable Seals

Pros:

  • Very sturdy

  • Difficult to remove accidentally

Limitations:

  • While difficult, can be cut with tools

  • More visible than other options

  • Due to size could interfere with operation of tool


Zip Ties

Pros:

  • Simple to install

  • Flexible for different tool shapes

Limitations:

  • Easier to remove on purpose or by accident

  • May loosen or break from vibration or impact


Epoxy or Adhesive

Pros:

  • Very secure

  • Hard to remove unintentionally

Limitations:

  • Difficult to remove if the tag must be replaced

  • Not ideal for temporary usage or testing


Double-Sided Tape

Pros:

Limitations:

  • Least secure

Your mounting location must balance two competing priorities:

  • Keep away from vents, exhausts, and hot surfaces: Heat can weaken adhesives and damage the tag.

  • Protect against impact: Do not place the tag in areas likely to be dropped or struck during normal use.

Troubleshooting Tag Attachment

Tag keeps falling off
